CARDET (The Centre for the Advancement of Research and Development in Educational Technology, Cyprus) is one of the leading research and development centres in the Mediterranean region with global expertise in project design and implementation, capacity building, health education, digital literacy, school education and e-learning. It is independently affiliated with universities and institutions from around the world, such as the Yale University, the University of Nicosia and the International Council of Educational Media.

CARDET has completed numerous projects relating to school education, health literacy, adult learning, literacies, digital tools, eLearning, and social integration of marginalised groups. It brings together an international team of experts with decades of global expertise in designing, implementing and evaluating international projects. Risks of the Internet and Communication Technologies Association (a.k.a. Don’t Be a Victim) focuses on preventive education and trainings for pupils in elementary schools, teachers and parents in areas of dangerous use of the Internet and communication technologies. Our association warns against possible misusing of personal information and it gives information about new phenomena in cyberspace such as sexting, grooming, phishing or happy slapping.

Our mission is to protect children, train and educate their teachers and parents from threats and risks of the virtual world and modern communication technologies through preventive education and various projects and events.

The 1st Primary School of Rafina has an over 80 years history and, as its name suggests, is placed in the center of the city of Rafina, near the port, 30 Km east of Athens. The year 2020-2021 there are 270 students attending (ages 6-12) and 35 teachers serving. Educational innovation is school’s key characteristic. Over the years it consistently initiates cutting-edge, project-based educational programmes, in the fields of culture, environment, science and Information Communication Technologies. Since September 2016 the school is an affiliate of the “Playing with Protons” project, a new science education initiative, led by the CMS Experiment at CERN, Geneve.

The 1st Primary School of Rafina encourages ICT uptake and the implementation of multiple intelligences theory in daily teaching practice through STEM/STEAM learning activities and robotics. For five successive years it has participated in the WRO educational robotics contests having already achieved multiple awards, including representing Greece at the 2018 World Robot Olympiad in Thailand (Open Robotics Category). The school is currently initiating the development of underwater robots involving parents and local stakeholders in the robots building and testing process.

University of Piteşti (UPIT) is a state university situated in the Southern part of Romania, in the Argeş County (120 kilometers from Bucharest).
